Main contents of the AIDA 2 course:
Theory section:
•Physiology of breath-hold: what happens in the body during apnea.
•Basics of pressure equalization: the Frenzel technique and other compensation methods.
•The concept of residual lung volume and the body’s adaptation to depth.
•Safety and rescue fundamentals: how to prevent and respond to potential risks.
•Training planning: how to improve performance while avoiding overtraining.
Practical section:
•Static apnea (STA): improving breath-hold capacity on the water surface.
•Dynamic apnea (DYN/DNF): underwater swimming techniques with and without fins.
•Constant weight training (CWT): first deep dives with fins in open water.
•Rescue skills: assisting a buddy at the surface and at depth.
•Improving swimming technique and finning.
AIDA 2 Certificate:
To successfully complete the course, the participant must demonstrate:
•Static apnea (STA): minimum 2-minute breath-hold.
•Dynamic apnea (DYN): swim at least 40 meters underwater (with fins).
•Constant weight dive (CWT): reach a minimum depth of 16 meters in open water.
•Safety skills: demonstrate the ability to accompany and rescue a buddy from a depth of 10 meters.
•Theory: successfully complete a written test on the course material.
In summary:
By completing the AIDA 2 course, you will learn to hold your breath safely and confidently, dive up to 20 meters deep, and communicate effectively with your buddy. This course will open the door to new underwater achievements and prepare you for deeper dives.
To participate, please bring:
🧢 Swim cap
🤿 Mask, snorkel, fins
🏋♂ Weight belt with 4–5 kg of weights
🥶 1.5–2 mm wetsuit (recommended for those sensitive to cold)
